CULTURAL MOBILITY FUNDING GUIDE: Focus on the Arab region, including the MENA region
This guide was updated in March-May 2017 by the Arab Education Forum in collaboration with On the Move, thanks to the support of the MedCulture programme. This present guide – compared with the 2014 edition - was enriched with a new table summarising the different funding schemes available for the Arab / MENA region.
This Mobility Funding Guide is a concrete output of the mapping of funding opportunities for the international cultural mobility focused on the Arab region in general and the MENA (Middle East North Africa) region in particular.
The main objective of this Mobility Funding Guide is to provide an overview of the funding that support international mobility of artists and cultural operators within and beyond the Arab region with a particular country on the MENA countries. Subsequently it aims to provide input for funders and policy makers on how to fill the exciting gaps in funding for international cultural exchange.
In this guide, focused on the Arab region in general and the MENA (Middle East North Africa) region in particular, you can find funding opportunities classified by alphabetical order and by types of funding organisations in most artistic and cultural disciplines. Only the regular and online accessible funding are listed that cover travel costs partially or completely. The guide mostly lists regional and international sources of funding - be they public or private - and a few national funding organisations. As this research focuses on Arab / MENA region, nationals from other countries in the region or interested in the Arab / MENA region may find in this guide relevant as well.
