The present Country Report is based on the report by Julie Jeantet, realised for the European Commission in 2014. The author made a synthesis of certain chapters and completed others, by presenting his own perspective while taking into consideration the format proposed by Med Culture for its commissioned Country Reports.  The data published under this country profile reflect the independent views of the author.

Bio:

Walid Mtimet is a cultural operator with hands on production and communication. He has an extensive experience in the field of audiovisual and performing arts. He has also coordinated a series of cinema festivals and cultural initiatives in Tunis, and in the Southern Mediterranean region, including artistic works in public spaces. He holds a MA in international artistic cooperation and an MA in social and cultural strategies and representations from the University of Paris 8. He is currently a PhD candidate, working on national cultural policies and EU policies for culture in Tunisia.
