Samy Abdelgherfi is a freelance editor and has worked and managed cultural projects in Algeria as well as in Egypt and Paris. He studied communication in Algiers and Paris. Med Culture has helped him articulate his cultural management skills to be able to bring to life his ideas and projects.
“You must believe in your ideas and work on making them happen and it will come to you”.
He is active in the cultural political scene in Algeria as a blogger and works for a music festival, trying to promote the importance of democratising culture and intercultural dialogue.
This video highlights the benefits and necessity for young cultural operators from south Mediterranean countries to reflect on their realities, voice their concerns, in order to provide them with the necessary tools for their personal and professional development.
This video is part of a series of 6 videos produced by Med Culture, an EU funded regional programme. It was filmed during Houna aShabab’s 3rd and last workshop, in Amman-Jordan, during 15-17 July, 2016 to particularly explore “Cultural Policies and the Value of Cultural Projects” and shed some light on the interaction between cultural operators and their overall cultural and political environments.
