Bidayyat launches one to two annual calls for proposals for long documentary film projects (duration from 24 to 90 min). The calls are announced via Bidayyat’s website and social media channels. Each call remains open for two months and after its closure, only complete project proposals will be evaluated by an independent committee of professionals in the field of documentary filmmaking.

Bidayyat grants in 2014 amounts  to 15,000 US Dollars. The granted amounts vary, depending on the documentary film’s submitted budget and the jury’s evaluation

Bidayyat also supports the production of short documentary and experimental films throughout the year on the condition that the films' duration ranges between 3 to 10 minutes and that the costs don't exceed US$ 5,000. All films should deal with the Syrian reality. Bidayyat offers this opportunity in view to support the short film projects of emerging Syrian and Syrian-Palestinian filmmakers from the development phase until finalization, but also in the aim of fostering exchange and cooperation between the emerging filmmakers. The costs for the artistic advisor for the selected projects will be covered by Bidayyat within the limits of the available financial resources.
