Representatives of the Ministry of Culture, representatives of line ministries, local governments and cultural operators.
The 2nd National Consultative Workshop held under the patronage of H.E. Minister of Culture, Mr. Nabih Shuqum, comes as a result of the work that has been done in Jordan and for Jordan since 2014, as follows:
- To respond to the expressed priority needs by Jordanians – both civil society cultural operators and officials during different roundtable meetings and P2P held by Med Culture earlier in 2014 and 2015 to establish a strategy for culture
- The Jordanian Ministry of Culture’s decision to draw a national strategy for culture in early 2015
- The Regional Peer to Peer Governance workshop held on the 8th and 9th of June of 2015 in which Jordan has taken part to set the basis for what will be a long-term process to define a methodology for an action plan that is workable
- The most recent action: Jordan National Consultative Workshop 1 On 15 and 16 May 2016 to define the direction and parameters for building a sound national cultural policy born out of the local context of the cultural sector in Jordan. In September 2016 The Ministry of Culture approved the 1st draft.
The National Consultative Workshop 2 will present the first draft of the Strategy and give participants the opportunity to give their feedback. It will also discuss the objectives, the definition of priorities for an Action Plan and the parameters for monitoring and evaluation.
